DON'T SHOOT!!
The picture was of two decoys positioned in the reenactment of a double kill (see photo). The shooter said two toms were coming down the field and when the first one cleared the brush he put the red dot on it's neck and fired. Apparently the second one stepped into the pattern.
The spring when we had a fresh snowfall on opening day, we had three incidents involving hunters using scopes on their shotguns. Scopes tend
to give the hunter "tunnel vision", (figuratively and literally). Caution should be used when using scoped shotguns (actually anytime there is more
than one bird in your field of view). Double kills resulted and those three were the ones that we actually heard about. Leave both eyes open
and constantly be aware of any other birds that may step, run or fly into your line of fire!
